Youth and Young Adults

Adolescence and young adulthood can be such a challenging time of life for both the young person and members of their family. Emerging needs for greater independence and separateness from family, along with increased importance of relationships with friends can cause a lot of tension in the home. Adolescence is also a time in which personal identity, interests and values begin to take shape. It is common for growth in such areas to cause difficulties at home and school, as well as within the individual.

Are you experiencing difficulty connecting and communicating with your teenager?

Have you noticed some changes in your adolescents’ behaviour that you are concerned about?

Are you worried that your young-adult aged child is struggling to find their direction in life?

Are you a young adult in need of support with a challenging situation?

Exposure to realities of sex, drugs, technology, and social media (to name a few) are happening at an ever-increasing rate in our fast-paced world. It is natural to struggle with how to address and manage information, especially as parents.

The pressures and challenges at this time of life can leave a youth feeling alone, disconnected, and angry. Wanting to be independent but having needs for connection can be really confusing, for both the youth and parents.

I specialize in working with youth, young adults and families who are experiencing difficulties surrounding issues such as anxiety, depression, substance misuse, technology misuse, grief/loss and family relationship problems. With 8 years of experience supporting youth and families through challenges such as these, I understand the importance of establishing a strong connection with clients in order to help them feel as comfortable and supported as they enter into counselling.

My fee is $150 per 50-minute session or $200 per 80-minute session.
